Framework of the call
Since 2010, Sorbonne University (SU) in partnership with the Institute for Research for Development has launched an International Doctoral Program (PDI) in “Modeling and Complex Systems” (MSC). This program, supported by the UPMC Doctoral Training Institute, aims to finance and support doctoral students enrolled in co-supervision between SU and a country in the South (countries considered economically developing, that is to say with GDP / inhabitant low, countries mainly located in the southern part of the continents) on the theme of the modeling of complex systems. PhD students must enroll in one of the UPMC doctoral schools, and those recruited under the 2018 call must commit to begin their dissertation for the 2018-19 academic year. As a result, doctoral students will have to validate the registration in co-supervision in the 2 countries in advance to be able to benefit from the financing of 36 months.
The membership of the program requires that the thesis registration be renewed each year in both institutions by the doctoral student in the opposite case the doctoral student would be excluded from the program and funding would be stopped.
The PDI MSC is coordinated by
Deputies: Edith Perrier and Christophe Cambier
